Hi, my name is Sean Neal, and I am a nature and landscape photographer, living in northern Chester County, Pennsylvania. I have always had a love for the outdoors. Camping and hiking have been a passion of mine for years, but it has only been the last 5 that I have added a camera into the mix.

I have not had any formal training so I continue to further develop my skills as a photographer by reading and of course, practice. As I progress with photography, I find my outdoors experiences are becoming even more rewarding, as I am ever more aware of the world around me.

My passion is to create images that give a view of the natural world, but not just any view. I want the viewer to see the extraordinary from the mundane. Many of my images have been shot very near to my home in Glenmoore, PA and I really enjoy going to the same places to challenge myself to find something new. Something that I have never noticed before.

One of the best ways for me to improve my photography skills is the printing process. There’s something to be said for being able to hold a print compared to viewing a digital image. I create all of my own archival pigment prints at home using the finest materials. All of the materials I use are archival quality and that includes the ink, paper, mount and mat boards to ensure that the image will remain as it was originally printed for many years with proper care. I feel that taking part in the entire process, from the initial photo capture, to the final framed print, gives me the most rewarding creative experience, but also brings a more personal nature to the images as well.

Nature is indeed personal and we are all a part of it. I create images that to me, convey a specific mood or emotion at that moment, not necessarily a specific scene. Sure, there is beautiful scenery in many of my images, but most can leave room for the viewer to add their own personal interpretation. Sometimes what I find to be the most interesting or moving part of an image may not be for others. I feel it’s the ambiguous nature of the natural world that will hopefully leave the viewer with a want to experience the outdoors for themselves.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or would like more information about a print.
